creative copywriting that converts

without sacrificing authenticity

You’ve done all the work, so why would you want your website (or your emails or your social media or anything else) to sound like anyone but you?!

And after putting every ounce of your being into your business—all the trial and error, making the sacrifices, saying ”F*ck the naysayers”—it’s time to reap the benefits. And how do we do that?  With words, of course.

Does this sound like you?

“i know what i want to say, but i don’t know how to say it.”

let me say it for you.

For ten years as a high school English teacher, my students loved to say “I know what to say, but I don’t know how to say it!” And my response? “I can’t write it for you!”

But as a copywriter, that’s quite literally my job.

My time in the classroom continually challenged me with new ways to be engaging, creative, and analytical—all with a lot of patience, and of course, a little humor.

That experience, in combination with sharp writing skills and a knack for navigating the digital realm, puts me in the position to give your messaging exactly the "glow up" it deserves.

i’m robyn, and authentic is my middle name.

Actually, it’s Marie.  But I promise you: my copywriting isn’t nearly as basic as my middle name (in fairness: my Nana, from whom I got that name, was a spicy little Italian meatball—anything but basic!).

You can imagine the head tilts when I told people I named my business “Kinda Weird Copywriting,” but that didn’t stop me.  I live by the phrase “Be kind; stay weird,” so the name just made sense.

as your copywriter, i’ll remain the most authentic version of me, while capturing the most authentic version of you.

are we long lost friends?

I have one husband, zero children, and five pets.

My big mean scary pitbull (insert eye roll here), Ruby, answers to my black cat, Salem, who is the true queen of the house.

My other male cats, Remi and Marlin, spend their time chasing absolutely nothing, playing with each other, and occasionally wondering if we’d notice if they ate our sugar glider, Hamlet.

I have a BA in English with a minor in psych, and an MS in Secondary Education. My entire 10-year teaching career was in urban, Title I high schools, and my students were hands down the best part of the job.

Leaving the profession was one of the scariest things I have ever done, but it was 100% necessary. Luckily, I’ve always been good with words. ;)

some things I love

some things I love ♥

Do I like these scrolls because they feel very MySpace-circa-2005? Sure do.
  • Bright colors (but also all black)

  • A good book (currently wrapping up “beach read” season)

  • Halloween & all things spooky (but not really because I hate scary movies)

  • Schitt’s Creek

  • The beach (but also fall)

  • Sharks (I will swim with them one day)

  • A good donut

  • Baking shows

  • Socializing (sometimes)

  • Corny jokes: the punnier, the better

  • The em dash—who doesn’t?!

if any of that solidified how funny and clever I am (or just gave you a better idea of my copywriting abilities), we should chat.
